Review analysis summary (Reviewed Oct 22, 2026)

A short Chinese horror mystery set in a remote mountain town, Firework is carried by its story and scores 88.8, top 20% of games we analyzed.

👍 Strengths

Story & World appears in 97% of analyzed reviews and ranks 204th of 1096. 277 reviews praise the story, calling it a moving tragedy about superstition, sacrifice and the people trapped by it, and some say the ending stayed with them. 87 admire the atmosphere and world, describing a dreamlike, unsettling town where the fear comes from human cruelty, not monsters. 23 like the visuals, with a few singling out the art style and imaginative scene transitions. Visuals & Sound ranks 528th of 1249.

👎 Where it falls short

24 reviews say the puzzles are too easy and the horror too mild for players looking for a challenge. 23 find the content short, finishing in about an evening, and some feel the final chapters are rushed. 13 say there is little real gameplay, with guided interactions, dated controls and slow walking speed. Others feel the price is high for its length. Gameplay ranks 877th of 1396, and Content Volume ranks 999th of 1351.
