The Best Cyberpunk Games on Steam, Ranked by Player Reviews

BC2S · 2026-10-24

Short version: of the 1,167 games we have analyzed, 12 carry "Cyberpunk" among their six most-used Steam tags. Ranked by what players wrote, seven of them score above 90 out of 100, and all seven sit in our top 120. Then the list falls off a cliff: the eighth game scores 80.0. Cyberpunk 2077 and Katana ZERO share the top score, 93.2. Every one of the 12 is praised for how it looks and sounds. What separates the top seven from the bottom five is whether the game runs well and feels finished.

Summarized from Steam reviews. Steamyze analysis.

Part 2 of our Cyberpunk series. Part 1 followed Cyberpunk 2077 from 59% to 95% positive Steam reviews; Part 3 checks whether Edgerunners 2 brings players back.

What we read

Steam players attach tags to every game, and the store lists them by how many players chose each one. We took every game we have analyzed where "Cyberpunk" is one of the first six tags: 12 games. For each, we read 223 to 466 Steam user reviews from the past year, in all languages, 5,028 reviews in all, analyzed between September 12 and October 21, 2026.

The score out of 100 is the one on each game's page. Games with fewer Steam reviews are pulled a little toward the middle, so a small game needs more reviews to hold a very high score.

Cyberpunk 2077 and Katana ZERO round to the same 93.2. Before rounding, Cyberpunk 2077 is ahead by less than a hundredth of a point.

Steam positive is the share of all the game's Steam reviews that recommend it, in all languages over its whole life, as of October 24, 2026.

The top seven: what players praise

Summaries of what reviewers wrote (the number is how many reviews made the point):

  • Cyberpunk 2077: "story and plot are the biggest strength" (131). More in Part 1.
  • Katana ZERO: "gripping story with philosophical depth" (99), and "animations smooth and responsive" (62).
  • SANABI: "engaging story with satisfying narrative" (272 of 458, the most of any point in this list).
  • VA-11 Hall-A: the world "reveals its ugliness through news and dialogue," yet "humanity persists" (114). 44 reviews say the game gave them comfort during a hard time.
  • Stray: "world feels alive, immersive atmosphere" (158), and "graphics are beautiful" (101).
  • CICADAMATA: "extremely cool visual or artistic presentation" (130), and "slick movement with tangible sense of momentum" (63).
  • SPRAWL zero: "feels like a long-lost classic" (112), "very good soundtrack" (110), and "aiming is extremely snappy" (98).

Two kinds of game share the top. Four are story games, where Story & World scores between +3.8 and +4.2: Cyberpunk 2077, SANABI, VA-11 Hall-A and Stray. Two are fast action games released this year, CICADAMATA and SPRAWL zero, where players talk about movement and shooting instead. Katana ZERO is praised for both.

What all seven have in common is Visuals & Sound: each scores +3.9 or higher there.

The top seven: the complaint they share

The most common criticism of the best games is that they end. 67 Katana ZERO reviews say there is "nothing left to do," and 53 Stray reviews call it "very short." Other complaints are small: 26 SANABI reviews find hook aiming "clunky," and 17 SPRAWL zero reviews miss a reload button.

The bottom five: where the points go

All five are praised for their look as well; even the lowest, Brigador Killers, scores +2.5 on Visuals & Sound. Each loses points somewhere different:

  • Nivalis Nights: "miserable performance at launch" (139 of 466), the largest complaint in this list. Its Tech & Support score, −0.9, is the lowest of the 12. Players still love the world: "captivating world and immersive vibes" (120).
  • Brigador Killers: an early access release; 88 of 401 reviews say it has "only 5 of 35 missions" and "feels incomplete." Its Content Volume score, −2.1, is the lowest of the 12. 113 reviews are hopeful about where the game is going.
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: "crashes and lags on powerful PC" (42), and "a bit shorter than desired" (29). 53 reviews still say its world leaves "a lingering sense of sadness and loneliness."
  • TK Punk Gold: a cyberpunk take on the Three Kingdoms, released in August 2026. Players like the art, "character designs are cute and appealing" (74 of 223), but no single complaint stands out: the largest, "monotonous content with only one BGM" (12), comes from about one review in twenty.
  • Ghostrunner: "insane concentration of action and parkour" (112) is the most common point, but 31 reviews say "every movement feels stiff."

Also tagged cyberpunk

One highly rated game has the Cyberpunk tag further down its list. Detroit: Become Human (94.2, 23rd of 1,167) would top this ranking, but Cyberpunk is its 17th tag; players tag it first as other things, so we left it out.

Limits

1) A Steam tag is chosen by players, so which games count as cyberpunk is their call, not ours. A different cutoff than six tags would change the list.

2) Scores were measured between September 12 and October 21, 2026. Nivalis Nights, Brigador Killers and TK Punk Gold were analyzed within three months of release and could change with patches.

3) This measures what reviewers wrote, not the games themselves.
